RE: Alternatives to fg question
I saw a MCD on-road at the track where I race when they first came out, while it wasn't a bad car the FGs walked all over it in terms of lap times. I'm not sure if they have changed much since then, the rest of the manufacturers have certainly improved.
I think that 4WD is best suited to off-road use where you can really benefit from the extra traction, on tarmac this benefit is outweighed by the extra power that the drivetrain takes and the handling didn't seem up to the level offered by the well-sorted 2WD models.
As far as spares availabilty goes, I don't really know - but its like anything, the less popular the model generally the harder it is to get bits for.

RE: Alternatives to fg question
This is the one Im looking at
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MakeTrack=true
Samba pipe on it, so it should be rapid acceleration.
The fg road spec cars seem to be holding their prices at the moment hence thinking of geting something a bit cheaper on the secondhand market.
26cc conversion would not cost the earth, then it would be an impresive in theory all rounder.
But I do respect your views rather than jumping in for the wrong reasons.

Why not Technokit ? I have one and i wouldn't trade it for any other brand, i just love the quality and finish, a very well built full blood race car, and the support is good.

Gotta plug it.
J&A Racing is in the UK. I got one of their cars, and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Mines an on-road, full alloy, but I hear they're finishing up an offroad car if that's your sort of thing. Should be around now that they release it. website at...Good thing is that the car is 99% compatible with FG parts, so you can interchange if you like.

Technokits also very good, but their low end cars don't stack up very well. Lauterbacher's nice quality but not really pedigree.
MCD looks great but that price!? ouch.
