Not a problem using other brands of servo.
Went out bashing this morning with a bloke using a Multiplex Rhino servo and it makes the Hitec 805 in my car look pathetic in comparison.

RE: need a new servo!!
The Hitec 645MG is fine for Gas/brake, but way to small for steering on a 1/6 or 1/5 auto.
The 805BB is fine or the 4745MG.
Peronally I am looking at the GWS S777FCG at 31 kg/cm, but haven't heard anything about it but the specs.

RE: need a new servo!!
Stay away from hitec servos, there are several quality issues with thesse servos atm, this is confirmed from Hitec distributors. Many hobby shops here in sweden are comlpletly removing the Hitec servos from the shelves. There are alot of other marks out there now that are much better, maybe to a slightly higher price. Multiplex makes nice Jumbo servos, strong as a Tauren

RE: need a new servo!!
I`m sticking to Hi tec servos,5745for steering,5645 for brakes/throttle.I upgraded to a Multiplex jumbo digi and after 5 hrs running and one small (ish) off its knackered, think its the potentiometre. So I`m staying clear off vor sprung German cra$!! Maybe I was just unlucky, but thats my expeirience of servos, the Hi tecs have taken plety of abuse so far.......touch wood!!

RE: need a new servo!!
I had a JP Supertec 777 6bb it was fantastic, 42kgs and only £50. BUT it caught fire [X(] Now I have a Supertec 666 2bb which is great on the marder but the MB's wheels are too big and it cant hold them as well as I would like but it was £6.00 brand new from Ebay.

RE: need a new servo!!
Hi Kiora.
I hope that the fire problem with the S777/6BB was a single issue, and not a widespread quality issue.
btw the Supertec and the GWS servos are the same.
I was wondering if it is worth going with one of the faster S777 variants, as they have the Standard at 42 kg/cm and 0.12sec/60
the S777FCG at 31 kg/cm and 0.10sec/60
the S777XFCG at 27kg/cm and 0.08sec/60
At the moment I am running with twin Jamara 21kg/cm Mega Power Servos, but they are sloow.(Got 4 for around 90 Euro incl. shipping)

RE: need a new servo!!
I've had nothing but good luck with Hitec servos and the new 5955TG's are simply the BEST out there. Trust me, you will not be dissapointed with this servo.

RE: need a new servo!!
Yes I hope the fire was a one off as well [] as Ive just ordered another one, £41 inc P&P not bad. I think it will be fast enough, With those wheels I think I'll try power over speed this time.
I'll power it direct from the battery this time as it made a mess of the other plugs in the reciever.
See ya
