What will the FG 4x4 conversion cost?
What do you guys think the FG 4x4 conversion will cost when it comes out? If it comes out I should say. There is one out there for over $600 USD already..

i'm actually dreading to hear the cost from fg for there 4x4 conversion[] as we know fg parts, spares are very expensive anyways so i can imagine they will keep there ongoing tradition up, i can imagine it will come in roughly just under an fg kit price??? expect the worst and anything else is a bonus

I'm in the $400 range. You have to consider the fact that it will include a front diff and rear diff housing. Thats $200-250 right there. Facter in drive shafts, axles, and other bits and pieces and I think it's going to be expensive but definatly worth it. I can't wait to get mine.

What ever it costs, i still am not going to get it. a belt driven 4wd system, do me a favor! FG make it a shaft driven 4wd then i might think about it!

Also went for the 500+. With the extra time and cost for R&D I just can not see FG making or selling it for less. More so since I do not think they will sell that many to make it worth lowering the price.

I went with the $300-$350 range, but I think it depends on what all the conversion is going to come with. For example if you end up having to change out the chassis plate I would say it will end up costing more.

I don't think it requires a new tank. From the pics on Hobbythek, the kit will come with spacers that lift the tank a bit to clear the belt.

*I think you are asking the wrong questin to begin with. Yes its FG and yes if it ever does see the light of day it will be expensive. The question you should be asking is: How much is the FG 4x4 conversion goiung to keep costing me? All of a sudden your going to have a whole bunch more moving parts to break so for every 100 bucks you are spending on replacements now it is going to be 100 bucks+ what ever breaks in the new conversion kit. Think I will stick with 2 wheel drive easier to wrench on, not as many moving parts to break, and while it may not handle as well in the extreme, over all the design will be faster and more efficient. As for mmy vote. 1000 dollars+ by the time you trade in the conversion car.

LOL, and you think your having problems with the current MT dif!
hell I better see that crap on a test stand video first and then shortly after, run through gravel, water, sand then hop on pavement and haul arse down the road like a scalded dog!
I would like to see them make enclosed diff boxes like 8th scale off-raod. Exposed gears are really crazy and stupid I think. LOL, and you get plastic gears to boot.
bottom line, Im still having the time of my life with this stuff!

I agree with chevyman_de.
And if it does show up, price will likely be way over US$ 500.
Just think of the parts needed.
2 Alu diffs+belt drive parts(300-400+)
totally new front suspension, including bearings for diff, new a-arms and new drive axles/dog-bones (100-200)
Belt (50-100)
Risers for fuel tank and maybe engine.(20-50)
Pricing is just a wild guess, when looking on the FG price list.
