Default Recommended Shock Wt ! ! ! ! ! !

Ok, ive seen a few posts where guys mention that they have changed their shock weight from what FG has in them from the Factory. Now does or can anyone recommend the proper shock weight for the MT-5???????? If this matters, I dont really run the truck too much off-road, and honestly , not even that much on-road ! But when I do run the truck , I do run it on-road.

If I can get some good advice, I'd like to change them by tomorrow, so dont be shy men, lets hear it ! ! !!

Hi 2pock,

I've changed the shock oil on my mt5 to 40# and it's a totally different truck, alot smoother, plusher feeling to the handling.
Best thing i did was change the shock oil. let me know how u get on,but 40# is the way to go.

Tried Trinity 55 rear and Serpent 40 front and the MT was too springy. Changed to Trinity 80 rear and 55 front and it seems much better on grass. I'll know more tomorrow when I take the MT to a local Off-Road meet in Orlando.

I had one bottle of FG 1000Wt and a bottle of Seiki 30Wt, so i filled 4 shocks with ea, and i'm running 1x1000 and 1x30wt on each corner, it seems excellent.
So much better than std it's not funny

You could also try the recomended wt from Hobbythek in Gernamy (www.rc-car-online.de)

They informed us that FG puts FG 2000wt in all their shocks because of the storage capabilities. Then most users often change it later. For the MB and MT this weight is quite unusefull and springy to say the least.

They shipped 2 x 800wt bottles with more than half of every MT/MB package.

With that weight you should be OK, or at least have an idea if you want to go a little higher og lower, or if you want different weights for the front/back.

The FG weights are usually the same as the US brands, just remove a zero.

after several different setups I found 80 (800) rear & 50 (500) front works the best for offroad use. If you just use it onroad I'd leave it alone, as you'd want the stiffer setup...... But come on! Why use it onroad all the time? Go get it dirty![>:]

Oh, and just to confuse you, this is on a MB.

Hi 2pock,
I use my bigfoot both on and off road but mainly offroad and grass with no problems.
