Can anyone give me tips on mounting new tires on alloy wheels (on-road tires) i have used a hair dryer, but i can't get these dang things on the rims.
Any tips would be great.

Don't know about the ally rims but the stock plastic ones are a bugger too. I put the tyres on the floor, placed the rims on top and stood on the things to get past the first bead. Then work on the second bead by hand (with the aid of a spoon handle) drop some mega thin cyano in the beads (on the plastic rims) and the jobs done...... 2 hours later and very sore fingers[&:]

Rub either talcum powder or washing up liquid round the inserts. Trust me it works and your fingers survive

Listen to LeeG. I've mounted 6 sets for the F1's, which are real buggers to mount and 1 set for the MT the same way and never had any problem.
