screen/filter for the pull start
A few years ago, we used to make a foam screen for the pull starts to keep all the grass and debris from getting sucked up and packing the cooling fins on the engine. Does anybody manufacture one now that either goes inside or outside the pull start or do I still have to use something that's home made? Thanks

RE: screen/filter for the pull start
Several people have just used window screen and silicone on the inside of the pull-start cover, but I was thinking about using a black stocking/pantyhose. I'm always thinking about panty hose...Ahhhh, [&:] my MB in pantyhose.
That's actually rather disturbing. [:-]
HAVE NOT HEARD OF A FOAM SCREEN, THOUGH. []

I think the screen would be alot easier to work with then chicken wire. I seem to get a lot of grass in the fan and motor. Has anyone installed a screen/filter and has had problems over heating if it gets clogged.

I glued heavy duty plastic screen for use on doors and windows when you have pets that mess with screens. I gotit from Lowes or Menards. I haven't had over heating issues.

Hi .. I have put speaker encloser cloth and a lawyer of tight weave material... almost nylon type... over and it works great... no cooling problem... and no dirt, dust or leaves...
