How about a wheelie bar and an aluminum gear carrier, and a Visco diff? Dont skimp on the radio gear. This is a heavy vehicle and nothing but a heady duty servo will do.

Don't worry about a big bore carby the stock walbro is plenty big enough even for the 29cc big bore kit.

by the way I don't think a steel spur gear and a two speed setup will mix it's one or the other.

FAILSAFES on these things are MANDATORY unless you are only going to run it in a Desert. these things can kill a child.

i'm going to need the walbro 257 carb because i live in the mountains of Colorado,my home elevation is 8024ft, hence the 8000ft name. when i took the restrictor out of my savage carb there was a huge increase in power, i'm sure that the zenoah 26cc will act the same way.

i read someware that for every thousand feet gain in elevation there in a 3% reduction in power due to thinner air, so at 8000ft a 3 hp engine is actually only putting out 2.25 hp.

my savage is in need of more repairs than i'm willing to do so i'll be steeling it's radio and fail safe.

question, is the stock diff case plastic or alloy?

I'd pass on the 2-speed. The gears are plastic and the truck with a nice pipe is plenty fast. Just be sure to have the front brakes as one of your first few upgrades. The single cam rear brake doesnt work very well once it gets heated.

well thats good to know.

how is the servo tray set up? what i mean is, does the steering servo need to be a 1/4 scale size, and if not will i be able to fit all three servos side by side?

i found a hitec servo (standard size) that has all titanium gears with 333 oz at .15 that i think would work great for steering (hitec hs-5955tg).
if it needs to be 1/4 scale i was thinking of the hitec hs-805bb with 345 oz at .14, but it has all nylon gears.
the ti-gear one is a bit pricy at 115.00, and the 805bb at 45.00.
