Default Upgrade parts for FG Leopard.

Looking into some upgrade parts, can a FG Leopard owner check correct FG part numbers? ta

Metal spark cap for Zenoah GS260RC
Alloy pinion/spur/brake gear carrier (the large plastic piece that fits over the clutch bell and layshaft) piece I melted a bit ago
7439 -alloy spur carrier for 46 tooth
6488 -engine mount alloy large
6044/1 - brake disc
Alloy servo saver
Countersunk machine screws that fit under chassis and screw into servo saver. Any loose parts under servo saver if the screw falls out (need someone to check if washer between servo saver hex bolt and chassis)
Alloy diff housing (side panels) Will I also need the risers that fit underneath?

Do vacuum chambers do much to the performance of the engine? Comments?

Default RE: Upgrade parts for FG Leopard.

Lost some more screws, what's correct part number for 1st picture with arrow?
Also anyone take a picture of the bottom of the servo saver looking at 6024 parts? That screw on the bottom has fallen out- is the correct screw 6722/14 or 6722/25?

Also wondering if I use a long screw, go all the way through the servo saver, then fit a self locking nut at the end? (stop working itself loose again)

Hi Mad Wax

I dont know where you can go for parts in the UK but you might want to try www.molzermoweryracing.com I dont know their phone number but it is on their website. Also as far as part numbers go I have no idea, sorry.

Getting parts in the UK is no problem- just want to double check I order the right parts. I think the RC plate screw is M4, and the servo saver upright screw is M5. Anyone verify this? And the Leopard large mount fits GS260? (just mentions GS230- same screw placements)

Also 6435 short spark cap fit GS260? FG catalogue says it doesn't

WARNING WARNING WARNING

The Alloy Gear Carrier 7439 is the 52mm one for the 40-44 size gearwheel!!!

The one you need for the 46tooth is the 6439!!!!!!

I know, I have been there!

It's not for a Marder, it's for the Leopard. The part better fit, as I've ordered it on your recommendation ibstar. No-body else has replied back.

According to the FG catalogue and Hobbyteck the short metal cap does not fit the GS260, but you said it does.

That plug cap fits the short standard plugs (NGK CMR6H and NGK CMR7H).

If you use the longer CR8HSA or CR8HIX(Iridium), then it won't fit.
I haven't seen a shielded Plug Cap for the longer plugs in FG's catalog, but if you uses the longer plugs, then check out a Bosch Dealer, they usually have plenty of different Shielded Plug Caps.
I think there was a thread about thos Plug Caps a bit earlier.

If you want to get totally rid of Radio Interferrence problems for yourself, then change to a 2,4Ghz system, they are virtually impervius to Ignition Noise, as it rarely, if never gets obove 800Mhz. (Sensor yahoooo)

yup using CMR7H, using longer thread- but the bundled one with SE edition is shorter thread. Can this be used? I have 7543 and 3066 (both CMR7H)

RFI shouldn't be a problem (have PCM) but apparently spark cap reduces RFI.

Going for Elcon diff sides, rear A and front bulkheads a bit later on (200 Euros)

It does not fit as you would expect it to do.
Yes, it gets in contact with the plug, so the engine will run properly. No question about that. But in order to do its job (rf suppression) properly, the cap has to stay tight on the metal hex part of the plug as well. Therefore its lower end is slotted ad has a spring on the outside to increase tension. Here comes the problem. The plug cap is designed for the bigger (not longer!) plugs of the old engines, so it fits like trousers five sizes too large. Some people "corrected" this by tightening the cap's lower end with a hose clamp. As long as the cap stays tight this will work. But when it comes loose because of vibration for even the slightest amount, you may end up with much more interferences than with the stock cap!

Cool down. Everybody makes mistakes. Just return the cap to your dealer. That should be no problem. If it is, I would think about a different dealer for the future.

BS- he's PM me confirming it works with my engine, but he thinks he knows what he's talking about.

I'm now £14 down. I ordered the parts on Sunday from Rossendale, and probably sent off Monday- they're closed today so cannot remove the item from the order.

ever heard of buyer beware
If he's not totally sure, keep quiet. Nothing to do with buyer beware....I could recommend charging batteries by plugging them directly to the mains.. I guess because of my own stupid advice it isn't my fault if someone follows this advice. Alot of people like to think they're "experts" but most of the time clueless morons. [&o]

ps I know someone with a ZG22 engine, so probably interested in buying it off me. Not worth returning (probably restocking fee, return postage etc)

i sent you the correct pictures,
i will go take a blinking video if you like. i am using the ngk plug,on a 26cc marder.
the cap fits the spark plug perfectly. it clips on tight to make the contact and the bottom of the cap sits very securly on the hex part.
with a silicone sealing ring between to stop water
if you don't want it ill send you a sodding cheque for it and i will have it.
as pictures sent in pm's
before and after you can even see the r7h on the plug

This is a plug cap FG #6435 (Bosch #0356 351 037) with a Champion RZ7C. There's plenty of room around the hex section...
