when you get them you have to cut and trim them to allow for throtte rods and servo horns & im positive you cant fit a reciver box when you have a dirt cover fitted at the same time - if thats the case i would rather have receiver box fitted and the body shell keeps out most if not all the dirt.

If you can make one yourself for $4 go for it. Yes thay are a pain to cut and fit, but if you do it right it keeps a LOT of crap off of you servos etc.. I have one on my MB and it was well worth the money in my opinion.

I will look thru and see if I have any pics of it in the puter, but chances are they didnt send you the wrong one, you have to do a lot of cutting to get it to fit, and even after you have it cut there is a lot of open spaces but what it does cover still keeps a lot of crap out. I do not run mine in the water at all, like you said those servos are expencive.

When I cut mine to put it on it was a TOTAL pain... You have to cut the bottom edges at an angle on the corners so it will fit to the chassis/side lip. You have to cut slits in the back so that you can take it off if you need to.. Pain to say the least, but if done right well worth the $20..

One would think they would have it ready to go.. But then it would actually use less plastic and they would have to charge 3X the $... lol

Don't forget to cover the chassis holes. I use some old stickers or leftovers from sticker sheets. They last for awhile and help keep the water and dirt out. You can even do this on the screws to help keep the dirt out of the holes too.

I have the dirt cover and it's not too bad unless you start putting in other brakes like I did. You can always just buy a big enough container at a dollar store and use that too. Use a heat gun to curve it if need be.

You can also get "plastic dip" at some hardware stores. It's a bit bigger that the size of a pop can and you can coat your servos, tools with it. the more layers you put on the thicker it will get, and it's flexible too!!
