Default My first MT-5 part needed - sugestions?

Looks like I've stripped out the "D" in the gizmo that holds the big main gear. As you read this you
obviously realize I don't know what I'm talking about. I don't have a parts break down.

In any event, this is my first broken part. Looks like this should have been Aluminum and had a "D"
with a set screw in it to me. What are my alternatives here?

Thanks,
gpshemi

You need the 60mm aluminum gear carrier. FG6439. Common and usually the first part to go on the MT-5.

I have replaced my plastic gear carrier not long ago, it's strange that they let that piece be all plastic. The part you are looking for is a Alloy Gear Carrier.

Go to http://www.rc-car-online.de and you will find it easy.

Or any Fg dealer in your country will have it in stock probably.

OK. So FG6439 is the alloy gear carrier. Will that take my standard gear...and what happens wwhen the stock gear is wasted too?
Then I need to get an alloy gear....is that going to require the whole mess again?

Steel gear and a different carrier?

Thanks guys.

It will take your standard 48 gear.

You just have to replace the plastic gear when that happen, but they last some time, so don't worry. It's good to have the plastic gear left as a weak point, trust me

The other way is to get a steel gear, thats metal all trough, but then you will have to have a real strong diff to relax, as you don't have any weak point anymore then. Have you got the steel pinion yet ? the small gear thats right besides the big gear. It is advised to get that small gear to metal first, before you do anything except that alloy gear carrier of course

OK. That sounds reasonable really. I think I'll go with the alloy carrier then. The stock plastic gears look great....so far.

That was the first piece to go on mine too, I think you'll need a complete spare MT as this will be the first of many breakages.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? (kelly's heroes)

I don't know if it is just that I have gotten lucky, or others simply cannot drive their Big Rigs.

The only parts I have manage to break on my MT was a C-Clip that held in the front axle, and that was likely cracked from over tightening the rim. The only other part i broke was a body post.

Granted, I did upgrade some parts before I ever drove the truck, but I really beat my MT hard. What are you hitting in order to break all these parts saulk?

Yeah I'm not listening to that guys. I've driven so many RC vehicles it's not funny. Nitro's cars, trucks, weedeater boats, and these days I fly planes too. You don't know the concept of breaking easy till you fly planes. I've had this for a while now and this is the first part to break. So far that's right up there with my T-maxx driving.

I like this truck alot. I wish it was a tad more maxxish in that it was a tad wider, but I like it this way too.

Thanks for the help. I've actually started to look at making a replacement here at work. Not sure it'll be worth the effort is all.

Canned making one. Found an alloy carrier for $22. It's not worth messing with for that. I'd rather just drive it.
Part should be here next week.

First part needed on any large scale is access to a good bank account.

Before you get married.
