RE: Power Racing 1/5 MT 4x4 (pictures)
Hey Guys,
I've made my observations of this new MT, I'm happy that other companies are getting into the market of large scale rc vehicles. However; I hope that they're not building and marketing a product that will kill the progress of making this hobby affordable. The overall concept is good, the chassis needs to have a 45% degree bend on the edges to have additional strength. The servos placement needs to be away from the moving parts of the vehicle, front and rear diffs needs to have steel gears, to include pinion and spur gears. Are you aware that this truck width is as long as a Marder, MB or MT? This thing is huge!!! I'm waiting for the test and vid of the MT and I'm holding out on the HPI Baja until the Power Racing truck is available. I want a 4x4 MT and the MCD is too pricy for my blood. But if Power racing can deliver a quality, well tested product I'll buy it.

Another thing I would like to see on this truck is an 8 shock design. That will add additional dampening and the asthetics factor too, and I imagine it is not hard to do either.

Nah, its a basher, just look at the high COG, and massive ground clearance. Should be by far the most capable Large scale to date. Also, if it were a truggy, it would have a center diff, which it does not. It needs 8 shocks to complete the look.

it does have a center diff and you can set the brake bias.
edit: i may have spoke to soon if it doesn't have on i'm sure i can make new bulks and put an fg diff in there.

This is NOT a racer, it is a basher. It has a high COG, high ground clearance, bashing tires, long travel suspension, no center diff, among other things. You dont see a truggy with 6" of ground clearance, 9.25" tires, and a large engine mounted high up in the chassis.

i tell you what. you get one and bash it. lets see how long it lasts.
it's not a savage, tmaxx, or an mgt. "it's buggy like" just as the representative of prp said.

In that case all the 1/5 MT's are truggies since they are based on the 1/6 buggy chassis. A center diff and a low stance are why truggies are popular. A truggy is nothing more than an AWD buggy with big tires and a truck body. Buggy performance with the MT looks.

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA you wish. Go take your "truggy" with 9.25" tires and 6" of ground clearance, high mounted engine, and no center diff and try it on a track. Good luck. You will need it. It is built for bashing, with no compromises made for other types o running.

There isn't anything new yet, unfortunately. Everyone here will be the first to know if anything changes, including new pictures, etc. Thanks!

I saw it live and in color....it has a center diff. Therfore it is a hybrid- basher, racer. I am sure it can be lowered etc to become a racer but where is the organized racing in the US anyway.....nowhere!!!

How can one lock what they do not have.... This truck has not made it to even a testing phase yet and the design is not complete. From the look and sound of it PR is designing as they go instead of drafting a design and building it. Last I saw on RCU, this thing still didn't have steering or brakes. I can look at this and the Baja thread and see that some people are assuming too much about a product before it is released. Atleast the Baja is a completed design and deserves the level of excitement it recieves. The PR truck is still a paper weight in it's current design stage and to make claims about performance and durability as some have is rediculous. I want to see some new pics of this with a completed design and being tested. I do like the 1/8 scale buggy drivetrain, but until we see it in action, how can we say if it will hold up or not. Just my .02
