Default firehammer

just finished my moto hammer. matched & ported, polished exhaust port,HT tuned pipe, opened air filter cover, cut motor cover (runs at 165 deg. F.),40 series wheels, moab tires alloy dif.,airtronics controls,. I've heard some people on this forum bad mouth the CY engine. If you spend a little time massaging
this engine it screams. First full throtle run after break in it spun the rear tires off there rims and threw the foam strips 50 ft. in the air. Beat my buddys fg marder at the track today.

I know what you mean, my 23cc CY in my XTM buggy (same as firehammer) is ported and polished, has a big bore carb, high flow air filter, and a tuned pipe and it screams.

i have xtm buggy that i change to monster tire fg and tune pipe with boost bottle.stock gearing lift tires off ground so much that just put wheelie bar on. i would like to run an fg monster truck with 26cc to realy see the differance.stock motor with xtm buggy could not lift wheels up at all but pipe and filter it like adding a turbo

sounds very nice, I dont have a tuned pipe at the moment :-( will get one soon enough i hope :-)

Just curious, did you glue the the tyres to the rims? if not id expect any tire to fly off the rim even @ low throttle, when mine came they literally kept falling off the rims, (this was when it was brand new , 1st thing i did was pop the tires onto the rims but they wouldnt stay!)i glued them to rims before i actually ran it :-)

rc, the tires I mentioned were the stock tires glued from the factory. I did inspect them before running them. Even tried to pull them off of the rims. They were tight. The modified engine is that strong. Running on asphalt no doubt contributed to the tires coming off. I have since gone to 40 series pro lines with moab tires that I glued on myself. Check out my gallery for pictures.

Duratrax does a good job of gluing the tires on as far as I can tell also. Running on asphalt ate my stock tires up quickly. I could see how running a highly tuned engine with spike tires on asphalt would shred the rubber and send the foam flying into the air.

Next time I need to replace my rear tires I will have to try that technique Beats boiling the rims in hot water on the grill to get the glue to release.
