It an evo 2, i took the shocks apart, and guess what? they were empty like they never in their lives saw oil, i guess that explains a lot about privious 2 owners
anyways, what number oil should i get? for the best handling?

Not sure of the weight.... I would guess a 35 or 40 wt. BTW: If they are completely dry and have been run much at all you will need to do a rebuild... no doubt the seals are shot.

The wt is just the viscosity (how easy it flows) the voulume of the FG shock is twice that of a t-maxx and that is what makes the difference.... Atleast that was my reasoning for the guess that is. I have not changed out the oil in my Marder shocks as of yet there has been no leakage therfore not much reason to tear them apart.... What # oils does every one use in the buggy? (Sorry, just a question, not trying to hi-jack your thread Dr.)[sm=thumbup.gif]

I believe a good all around starter point is the FG #5000 oil all around. The better the grip of the track, the harder oil should be used.

Most Racers start at 8000 in the front and 4000 in the rear. Harder springs should be used in the front. The yellows in the rear are a good start
On a really smooth High grip track you can go 10,000 Front 2,000 rear but only if your fast enough < wink>

I have the same problem! Just bought some of ebay to add to my Harm and most of the seals are gone. Plan to go to my FG dealer and get replacements today. Prices are pretty good too. The nice thing is that the inner pistons are aluminum and not plastic!! I changed mine on the Marder after the c-clip kept cmonig off inside the shock. I have Black and yellow springs so I'll try the black in the front and yellow in the back. Since the Harm Basic came with friction shocks this will be a huge improvement!!.
