Should I Really Use a Tuned Pipe on my Firehammer?
Just unpacked my new Firehammer. Have not run it yet, but it looks awesome! I bought a FG tuned pipe for it on an auction and fitted it on with little to no clearance between it and a front brace. The buggy has the stock DTX engine.
My question is, will the tuned pipe significantly add to the performance/fun factor of playing with this car? It will require a sizeable cutout of the body around the left quarter panel area, and I hate to remove a chunk from the stock body like that. What do you guys think about adding the pipe?
If life will be simpler just using the stock muffler, I can live with that as well.

NOOO, don't do it !!!! Just throw away that tunepipe or give it to someone, cause with it you will just have to much fun
These cars are so fun to drive as they came in the box stock, that you will think it can't get any better then that... then you will sooner or later try a tunepipe, and that will just put the experience beyond that first point, your fun will reach new hights you didn't even know existed
So i personally would try to mod the body to fit the pipe, if it would require to much cutting, then try to get another tunepipe that will fit better, if you are afraid of cutting to much of the body. A tunepipe will make a quite big improvement to the performance, you will probably never go back to stock again. But remember that stock, these cars are a blast to, so start driving in stock mode for a few tanks, then if you would feel the need for even more performance, bolt on that tunepipe and cut the body.
It's like always... for me anyways, if i have great power, i just want more, don't matter if the vehicle gets harder to control [sm=thumbup.gif]

well.. try running it without the tuned one.. then put on the tuned one and see if your think it's worth it.. cos i didnt wanna cut my body at first.. but now i'm happy
the tunedpipe gave me alot more low end power
and the body still feels ok.. you can make a new one like StefanL if you think it sucks :P
i've never been hapier with my Marder
edit: lol seems i wrote the same thing lite automan:P kinda

it depends on if you want more power... try running with your stock pipe, then run it with the tunepipe, you will notice a difference in overall performance
Any tunepipe you add to the marder/firehammer using a stock body, will require alittle trimming of your rear body panel....the price of power

Yes, the left rear part of the body will have to go and then pull the cage forward just a touch by putting a spacer at the top of the cage. You can see this adaptation in Sandy's R&D page of the Molzer Mowery web site. I did this to my Marder and its on the Monster Madness page of their web site.

Tuned pipe was the best thing that happened to my truck. The low end just came alive If I had to I would have cut the whole side off the body and duct taped it in place, just glad I didn't have to.

Run it stock first and then change it after you get use to driving. You will see a huge difference and be very happy. It's just so unfortunate that the body does have to get cut. I had to cut my ABS Marder body and my Mud Marder body for my Samba pipe to fit.

DOO IIITTT[8D]
the best upgrade I made was the samba, the only problem was I then had to spend money on front brakes to stop the damn thing.

There isn't a "best" pipe for the Firehammer - different brands/models provide different output characteristic.
There are a few users here that have used the JetPro tuned pipe and all have been very pleased with the performance but it is quite a loud pipe. Good value too ~U$170 each.
