Default bad alloy front hub

I bought some new FG alloy front uprights with arms I went to install the bearings one side went in no problem the other side I'm telling you the opening isnt big enough for the bearing....is there a bad batch of uprights going around?... ie honed to small

I'm using a bench mounted vise and wood so I dont mar up the alloy. I'm preesing it in evenly, you can see how the bearing is cutting a grove all the way around the inside of mounting hole for the bearing.

Yes its the right bearing, I used the same bearings with no problem on the other upright/hub. I tried heating the hub and cooling the bearing. I guess I have to buy a new set[sm=thumbdown.gif] Its only a $75 fix.........stupid ********** ****** *** (Vent)

watch out for these..... I'm sure there are more of them, must be a manufacturer defect with a batch

i can see were the bearing has cut into the alloy - do you not know any one that can laith a bit of the alloy away so the bearing will fit - local metal works!!! or can you not send them back to the place you bought them.

Send it to us, we can fix it for you free of charge, even though you didnt purchase it from us. We have an on-site machine shop that can properly hone it out to 22mm and make a nice snug fit for your bearing to press in. It is apparent that you have received an "under-cut" hub carrier. They should have checked that more carefully.
