Default RE: Tuning

Tell me about your motor:

Does it hessitate always (hot or cold)
How many hours on the engine?
Remove the plug; what does it look like? (color, condition)
What fuel?
What oil?
Condition of air filter?
What air filter?
any recent changes? (gearing,fuel,etc)
Gear mesh issues? (long shot but cover all the bases)

Default RE: Tuning

hi there :-)

Does it hessitate always (hot or cold) - Only when above 3/4 throttle, it just seems to hold back..its when engine is hot as ive only tried when after running it for over 20+ mins

How many hours on the engine? about 4+ tanks.. last tank lasted over 1 hour!

Remove the plug; what does it look like? (color, condition) ..looks in clean/good condition

What fuel? unleaded ?

What oil? castrol a747 - 25/1 mixture

Condition of air filter? very good condition, cleaned it & re-lubricated it if it gets mucky

What air filter? not sure of name, its one that come with FG MB pro (not the normal MB) i was told the one that comes on the pro is a good one so i left it at that

any recent changes? (gearing, fuel, etc) no changes

Gear mesh issues? (long shot but cover all the bases) gear mesh seems fine, ive been keeping a close eye on it, early on there seemed to be a prob, but ive sorted that & checked all meshing etc & seems fine

It seems to do with the tuning as i can hear the sound of the exhause change when i go over 3/4 throttle, as if theres not enuff fuel going through, or too much?

engine is the Zen g260, thanks for help :-)

Default RE: Tuning

When you say the plug looks fine what do you mean? Your high needle could be a litle lean or a little rich but the plug will tell which one it is. If the plug is vry clean with some ash you are too lean, if the plug is a little black and gummy you are too rich. Try running the motor full range with after only two minutes of warm up. (still cold) Any improvement? If it runs worse you are too rich, If it runs better you are too lean and the motor is getting hot and leaning out further.
Have you tried stock settings?
You said unleaded gas? What octane? Racing gas?

Stock tuning is 1.5 turns out on the H needle and 1.25 turns out on the L needle. Try that.
