Default Gearing Suggestions

Ok, I'd like to know first whats the stock gearing on the FG MT?

Second what would be the best pin/spur gear set-up to get a higher top end and not compromise to much of my low end ?

pinion gear 16 tooth
spur gear 48 tooth
layshaft gear 14 tooth
diff gear 48 tooth

question number 2 the skys the limit on diff combinations. with a tuned pipe the truck runs like a raped ape, you must be wanting to go one on one with a jato.

Ok, I read somewhere that a guy has a 18/46 set up and his truck has a real nice top end.

Think I should go with the same ?

you could go with the two speed. you will loose some bottom end though. it's gearing is
18/46 low gear, 20/44 high gear.

I know what you mean, I'm at about 2100$, and I'm calling it quits till next Christmas.
RC Nuts has got the two speed for 196.36, I was going to do it till I found out the ratois, I want bottom end punch not top end speed.
I've got the 29cc motor in mine and I'm putting in the four shoe adjustable clutch , a bigger carb, the WT-488, and the jet-pro pipe. Hopefully that combo will give me the "jump off the line" that I'm looking for.

Just like u I have the 29cc w/jetpro pipe. Other-wise its all stocK . Also I added a boost box(supposed to work on the same principle as the nitro boost bootle). Not sure if u can see it, but its between the head & carb !
(pic taken before pipe installed)

Aluminum parts(gears, gear carrier, front push guard, sump guard), wheelie bars, disc brakes, motor, custom paint job, servos, custom batt pack, second body plus parts for conversion, diff guard, side plate covers and air filter. I think thast all of it, lol(which I think is more than $1000) ! ! !

Ahh that explains it. Take a look at my gallery. I made the brush guard and wheelie bar myself, I'm guessing they cost me about 65.00$ for both in parts and about six hours to build.

everything is a compramise, if you want to go fast and have the punch the two spped is the way to go and swap the 16/48 for the 18/46 first gear.
