Default 26CC Help!!

Hi
I've set up the carb on my Monster Truck. I can get the engine to tick over but no matter what I do when I go to pull away the engine bogs down and sounds like the fuel is too rich which it isnt as I've tried different mixtures of fuel. However when I prime the carb while the engine is running the engine will get its power back and accelerate as normal, does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Regards
Adam

I suggested he richen it.

When i got my traveller it would idle fine ect, but when i gave it gas it would sound like it was bogging and dying - just needed to be richened on the LSN and all was solved

Hi all it appears to be nothing to do with the carb setting as Ive adjusted all of the needles correctly while the engine is running. I've noticed some air bubbles in the yellow fuel pipe could it be anything to do with this?

Sounds to me like its to lean, when its been running, where is the level in the primer? How old is the motor and how long have you run it like that?
If the motor has got really hot, then it will make the ring go weak and not seal.
Its hard to tell whats really wrong with it unless you can see it!

It really does sound like the choke is stuck on. My tuned pipe used to knock the choke on when landing from a jump. It did the exact same thing. Idles fine, but splutters when giving it the gas.

You might also check your layshaft/diff gear mesh. Mine was too tight once and my Firehammer would bog down and die because it couldn't roll the car.

Does your car roll freely when the engine is off? Do you feel any binding as you try to roll the car forward a few feet by hand?

If this mesh is too tight you can loosen your engine mount screws on the bottom of the chassis and the brace screw on the top of the large engine mount to free the engine slightly, adjust the layshaft/diff gear mesh and then tighten them down again.

make sure all your bolts are tight on the carb itself and not sucking air or any pin holes in your gas line

If you have a hard time getting the engin to run and it bogs down. Try changing the champion plug out if you are using this plug. The champion plugs can go bad fast.

Did you remove the fuel and return lines at any time? are they reversed?
