RE: MCD Proline MT
Hey Recer,
Great looking truck!
Can you enlarge the image sizes (at least 640x480)? I would love to see some bigger images of the truck with the shell off to check out that new engine placement and electronics setup.
If the filesize climbs over 150KB then you can use image compression to make the file size smaller while keeping the bigger image size.
Thanks,
Ken

RE: MCD Proline MT
Aluminum Crusher,
There is a thread called "MCD 4wd Rally" There is some information from MathewGarage who has had experience with all the MCD's over 2 years. Might be worth a quick read. I mentioned in that thread that I just finished the truck yesterday. I did have it out a couple of times prior for testing. Since this is my first monster I can give you some quick impressions. The truck is well balanced due to the 4wd and the centered Zenoah engine. I dropped the body more that an 1" all around. I don't know it that helps the drive but it makes it look better.I did a few traction rolls in hard turns and throttle... like a sumersault... I think the gearing is low 24/39 so climbing is great. I took it up a steep long hill no worries at all. The truck accelerates nice but flattens out a bit because of the gears. I am getting a taller gear set which from "mathewsgarage" input will improve the high end speed. I did set up some cones and took it through a slalom.. The handling was predictable and the suspension released nice coming out of a turn. It is easy for the 4wd to outdrive the turn. I believe I will turn down my steering epa next time out to compensate. I haven't taken many jumps yet... but I did drop the truck from 4 feet and it bounced a bit when it hit the ground... I am wondering if it is too stiff. There is a make shift moto track next to the freeway probably see how it handles jumps.
So how does this rate??? It is difficult to compare since I have no experience with other such monster vehicles. For me I love the 4wd you can just feel it pulling around the turn... The power gets to the wheels, It is a stock G260rc engine. I am undecided where I mods I do to the engine, but for now it will "git er dune" the balance of the truck front to back is nice... We will see how the parts hold up to brain fade driving.
I couldn't tell you speed wise no gun sorry... I am confident you can build and setup any MT for big ponies... That reed valvue on a Zenoah sounds interesting to me...
Video... gotta figure that one out...
Thanks for the nice comments from everyone.
here is a couple of pics showing where I located my kill switch.
