Default Alcohol Engine

Is there anyone out there running there cars/trucks on alcohol? I am planning on getting a Baja 5b when I get back from Kuwait and want to run it on alcohol. What am looking for is a small round slide mikuni carb and fuel pump to replace the stock unit. Appreciate any info.

Yep, all you need is a WT-499 carburetor and your Zenoah or Chung Yang engine will rune fine on alcohol.

Meters appropriately (the volume of alcohol-based fuel needed is MUCH larger), has internal components which won't be damaged by alcohol, etc.

Alcohol fuels lower your operating temperature significantly, and can allow use in extremely high-compression engines.

Alcohol burns twice as fast as gas so the carb must be jetted twice as big. Alcohol runs much cooler but after every day of running alcohol you have to purge the motor (run gas through it) or the alcohol will damage your motor.

just looking at the wt 499 carb wont this cause problems as it dosent seem to be self priming or it dosent have the priming bubble

A very useful primer on fuels can be found here:

There is no primmer on this carb. To get it started you would have to open the throttle and plug the hole with your finger and pull it until it bleeds the line and gets fuel into the carb.

i bit of a faf for somone like me takin the filter on and off all the time, would it improve performance on gas because of the smoother bore and also could a priming bubble be fitted from a old carb?
