Steel Spur Gear
My spur gear is needing to be replaced soon. Should I go with an alloy spur gear set? My only worries with that is what will be my weak spot then? I would rather go through spur gears than shredding something alittle more time consuming to replace.

RE: Steel Spur Gear
Get a 60mm alloy spur gear carrier and alloy rear upper A-arms that should help.
I run all metal gears (Pinion & spur) and have a cover over them...... I raised the diff and added a plexyglass cover too.... No problems so far

RE: Steel Spur Gear
Stock plastic upper A-arms Flex while landing jumps hitting the teeth of your spur gear.... the alloy upper arms helps prevent that.
Why I mentioned raising the diff and sealing your diff area was for rock prevention for those who run all metal gears and worry about that rock jamming in the gears

RE: Steel Spur Gear
The inside of the stock plastic carrier can heat up enough to round out the center of it. The alloy carrier mounts solid to the shaft with set screws instead of an E clip.
