Some Advice Please
I know this thread may be redundent, but I am in search of a good place to buy a Gas MT. I have seen a few sites talked about in these threads but most are in foreign language and that makes me alittle leary when ordering. I am in Canada and kinda want a site that I can buy a Truck as well as parts when I break them..lol
Also, from what I have viewed most of the companies are selling the same trucks, so this question may be for all of them. I have radio gear so dont need a KIT. Does the FG MT come RTR (minus the radio gear)? Or do I need to buy a battery and servos as well?
Again I know this may be repetative for you guys as I have been a nitro forum contributer for some time and see this ALOT, but some links to some companies would be a great help to break me into the Gassers.
Thanx Guys..

RE: Some Advice Please
well before looking online - look at your LHS
and if ur from a nitro background and have radio gear and buy a non-RTR model, you will probably still have to buy the 1/4 scale steering servo

Yes Advance is the place to go. I buy all my parts from them and they are super guys. They've been the FG distributors for at least 10 years and have a great shop. E-mail them and if you mention my name (Joe Selwa) they may give you a better deal. I have a few pics of my fg's on their website too.

RE: Some Advice Please
the only Gasser that our LHS carries is the Fire Hammer, and I want an MT. I just like the look and ground clearance. That was one question that I did have, if the Steering servo comes installed or If I have to buy one of those seperatly.

RE: Some Advice Please
I would sell the Tmaxx without telling her and then just say you got a great deal on one. The GFs and wives have no idea how much some of this stuff can cost just like we don't want to see what they buy.
If you get busted tell her it's much cheaper to run and buy her something she wants!!!
Good Luck!

RE: Some Advice Please
My truck came without any radio gear. You can buy it ready to run with all radio gear installed for about $500 more, but I think you can save a few bucks by puchasing separatley and installing yourself. I have a good radio with multi model memory so all I needed were servos and receiver. I went with the 343oz torque Hi tec for steering and Cirrus c703mgb 102oz torque for throttle/brake. I also bought a 3000mah nimh battery and fail safe.

OHHHH So now im a LOONEY huh..haha..jk
Soon as I figure out how to sell this Brand new IBM laptop I have I will purchase me one of these bad boys, Im now leaning towards the leopard instead of the MT. I dunno why, just am..lol. I will most likley just order the truck without the radio gear and then get a large scale servo from the LHS and I beliebe the extra servos I have will work fine for throttle and brake.

RE: Some Advice Please
All depends on howmuch I get for my laptop I guess. The $$$ diff is alot between the leopard and the MT, on the other hand I dont want to just rush into gettingone just for the sake of finally having a gasser. I look at my nitro as a lesser RC now..haha.

RE: Some Advice Please
I'd get the leopard Race, but make sure it has a 26CC and the new ball drive cups. It will handle much better than a MT nad then you can get the Stadium tires down the road.

RE: Some Advice Please
Hello,
I got the MT & MBpro first because of the looks and learnt the hard way about what will break, and then ended up not enjoying the cars as the tires just spin all the time.
I have now just brought the Leopard, save the extra and you will not look back it is an great car to drive
Rgds

RE: Some Advice Please
So, Ive never seen a PIc of the leopard and the MT's next to eachother, what is the ground clearance on a leopard? So the ST tires fit, what out MT tires? From what I can kinda understand the MB and MT look the same, as well as the ST, Mostly the same anyhow, so are all the parts universal? I guess then the Leopard is out on its own then. Still looks sweet.

RE: Some Advice Please
i got the marder race and a set of monster tyres and i got no regrets at all!! (apart from maybe getting a lauterbacher supercross fully loaded with ally♦ but wheres the fun in that)
the marder with the monster wheels is awsome fun, with standard wheels it will still win races,so in my book i got the perfect car. but everybody is different

RE: Some Advice Please
AHHHHHH!!!!! So finally I find a Site that peeks my interest, had all the specs, and the leopard with some 'free' upgrades, but doesnt ship the Vehicle to Canada, only parts. Advanced Hobbies is where he sent me to look, they seem ok, but dont have the leopard with a ST body, nor ST tires, NOR the 'free' upgrades.. *sigh*...
