Not that I don't care about the girl ...
...but when are the new vehicles going to show up? The competition model of the offroaders looks pretty nice now that there is a more exhaustive list of features.
Is the alloy on the comp models as solid as Elcon? Is it solid enough?

RE: FG 2006 catalogue addition
My opinion is that the FG alloy is softer that the Elcon Aluminum. Some FG stuff is machined but others have the die-cast look to them. I have had the FG upper arms before and they do bend. Once I put the Elcon ones on both FG's they work great. Plus I find that the prices for the FG upgrades tends to be more expensive in some cases as Elcon.
Hands down the best route to go if you like to modify is get a used buggy/truck and then get some nice Elcon/Krikke parts on it.

There are no die-cast FG parts. The look comes from the deburring in a vibratory grinder. I believe FG startet polishing most parts just to ged rid of that die-cast look.

THe process you mention makes sense now. That's why they have that "die-cast" look. You're right about polishing. I just bought another gear carrier plate and it's polished or more chrome lookin' that my other one which looks more of a CNC look. I gues it depends on when you get one.
