I take mine off the truck and spray in a bunch of either carb cleaner or brake cleaner and swish it around for a couple of minutesand then rinse it out with HOT water.

hello paul hows it going, i put my samba in the forge at work today ther aint nothing in side it now 
mind you theres no paint on the out side either , could try caustic soda .

my mate had an AR50 with a nice chrome micron. we used to fill that with petrol and send him off down the road at night
