There is already a fuel filter in your gas tank.

I run an extra nitro filter, I figured extra protection can never hurt

Ya, agree with rchertz, extra protection can't hurt, specially if you don't know where the cans been or the tank mouth is dirty and contamination gets in? Its the time you don't have the protection that you may burn up, sputter, missfire or worse just ruin a good piston or crank.[sm=lol.gif]

DONT FORGET WE ALL FILL UP IN THE FIELD(OUTDOORS),IT DONT TAKE MUCH TO FOUL AN ENGINE,IV SEEN THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY TINY PARTICLES OF DIRT ETC, WHICH CUD OF COME FROM A FEW SOURCES, IE, CAN,WIND,FUNNEL,YOURSELF,AND NOT FORGETTING STRAIGHT OUT THE PUMP! THATS WHY SOME FULL SIZE AUTO,S COME WITH PRE FILTER AS WELL AS NORMAL FUEL FILTER, IM NOT SAYING STD FILTER DOSENT WORK, ITS JUST GOOD TO HAVE A BACK UP, AND DOESNT BREAK THE BANK! I WONDER HOW MANY ENGINE FAILURES ARE DOWN TO DIRT,CAUS A LOT OF PEOPLE AUTO BLAME,OIL,OVERHEATING, AND SO ON,
IF YOU ASK ME ,ITS ALL ABOUT MINIMILISING DAMAGE(IT IS WITH ME),
PERFORMANCE ISNT AFFECTED! SO ID HAVE 2 F,FILTERS,JUS TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, SO THEN YOU CAN SPEND MONEY ON UPGRADES,NOT ENGINE REBUILDS!
HOPE THIS HELPS.
LOL NOW I JUST WANA TAKE MY ST OUT!! BUT ITS MIDNITE! DAM!!!!!!!!!!!!![:@]

No harm running a additional filter....if you refuel out in the field it's easy to get crud in the tank...unless you just drive on asphault or grass then it's not much of an issue.

I use a filter on both my FGs and my boat.

I use the Dubro Aluminum Large Scale model. Easily cleaned and only 4 bucks each.

This thick metal filter ALSO gives me a great place to wrap the zip tie around to secure the fuel line. It won't pinch or collapse with the zip tie.

u'll have more chances of getting dirt in thru ur airfilter than thru the fuel tank

Correct.

But what do you have against another fuel filter?

I use a prefilter and clean my foam airfilter often. So my air is filtered twice, why not my fuel is what I think.

It seems the concessus is that its not a bad idea to get one would it be worth putting 2 on for each of the fuel lines

thanks
