The instructions I got from Dave's Motors were to go in 15 minute chunks with light and varying throttle. Let the engine cool down completely between 15 minute runs. Do this for 3 - 4 tanks. You are trying to warm things up consistently and then let them cool down consistently.

After these break-in tanks you will need adjust your carb needles to the manufacturers recommended stock positions (usually 1.25 turns out for both L and H screws) and then start to lean on it Turn the screws all the way in until they stop and then back them out to where they should be.

You will probably get four 15 minute runs per tank before refilling. This will take a few days but will pay off with a longer, stronger life on the engine.

Small price (in time) to pay for more hours of uptime (play time).
