HPI Baja 5B
Hey y'all.
It's been a long time since I was here last.
I've just seen this new HPI Baja buggy and I'm stoked. I've read all the stories about it in this forum, but haven't seen any on the tires available for it.
See, I run in some nasty sugar sand. It's more in-between beach sand and white sugar sand.
I'm wanting to know if there are paddle tires available for the HPI buggy's rear rims.
Can anyone point me in the direction or post up some pics of some paddle tires?
Thanks!
Hope to hear from ya!
Mike

I do not think the the tires are out yet, i know that HPI is due to release a set of paddles though.
There is a guy on here or the baja forum that made his own set and they seem to work good in his video's
Hope this is a bit of help

Yea, I saw those glued on paddles. They're perfect.
Did anyone send those pics into HPI for them to see? I bet they would make some exactly like them if they saw how good they worked in those movies.

RE: HPI Baja 5B
correct, he took the stock tires, clipped off all the nubs on the rears and the tread on the fronts with a pair of hobby scissors. then he chucked up the tires in his lathe, and took a dremel with a sanding wheel and smoothed out all 4 stock tires. he then took 4 new Proline paddles and cut the paddles off with 1/8th of an inch left on the edge, then sanded the bottoms of the inidvidual paddles. lined it up for 12 or 16 paddles per rear tire, then CA glued them into place. im not sure what he used for the rib material for the front razor, but its custom also. from the vids he posted, they are very stong, seemed to have held up well, and look great.
Prather Tires is also working on getting a set of GPs (general purpose) tires and also a set of Paddles and a razor for the fronts. HPI is also going to be releaseing tires for the Baja, but no word as to when.
