1/5th scale drift
Are there any good 4 wheel drive 1/5th scale onroad cars? (contrary to popular belief 4wd is better for drift than 2wd with RC)
Thanks
Thanks

(would be used for drift only, would be locking the rear diff and running hard low grip tyres, maybe put in a little fan to keep the engine cool etc)

RE: 1/5th scale drift
MCD 4wd is the way to go tried it with 2wd & all the tips form the drift boys
e.g locking the diff . hard tires . hard shocks on the back soft on the front etc.etc
spent a lot of time out with the car just to get a s**t load of big spin offs[:@]
got some drifs but nothing to shout about so MCD 4wd makes life just that much easier[8D]

over all probably not, i understand to upgrade an FG to 4x4, your looking at a large price tag. i ve heard as much as 1200. but thats freaking insaine, even for FG. 600.00 is too much imo. the MCD is about 1500.00 shipped, then you need as stated above, motor 250.00 29cc DM. Servos 100. if one steerign servo, double if to, and atleast one 50.00 servo for thrt/brake and another rx for your radio, so about 2000.00, give or take, for an MCD.
FG starts around 1200.00 plus the upgrade to 4x4. If its really about 1200.00 to get FG 4x4, in the end your prolly close to the same amount....

its not just the car that u buy, when u buy an FG u have one of the most supported cars in the world, so parts and hop ups are readily available.

If you look on ebay you can get the Kamitiro 4WD conversion for about £270 plus about £100 or so for other parts you need, plus shipping, so a bit under £400... But if you search europe or worldwide you could order it from Germany for how ever many euro's and it'd work out about £250 for the conversion itself, so a bit cheaper, plus it'd be shipped from Germany either way.
Of course it's probably designed more for a Marder, not sure...

RE: 1/5th scale drift
FG doesnt have a 4x4 conversion for street cars, so FG is out of the question as far as drifting. But any 4x4 1/5th will cost over $2000.
If you buy a 4x4 FG, You need 2 large steering servos, high performance standard size servos, disk brakes to get the extra weight to a stop, and maybe some other stuff. Nothing cheap, but if you get that, or a different 4x4, you will have the ultimate RC 4x4, 2wd wont touch it.[8D]
