Default FG Tires & Wheels

Yes I did a search for around 1hr![sm=thumbs_down.gif] & could not find out what I want to know.[:@] Maybe some one can help me out! I want to change my wheels & tires on my FG MT5, from the stock ones to the ones for the FG Stadium Truck, the tread pattern will work better for what I do. I got a fue questions. I know the Stadium Truck Tires are a little shorter, but how much exactly in inches. I belive they are the same width. & are the rim's the same size as the MT5's, if not how much shorter are they & will they still work on the MT5? I know I will need to regear it from 16/48 to eather 18/46 or 20/44. I know with the shorter tires it should have more off the line, but hurt the top end. I was wandering if the 18/46 would be like the stock tires & rims, or if it would still be able to Wheelie with a 20/44 set of gears[sm=confused.gif] Any help would be appreciated! Thanks,

Scooter, the ST wheels are also 3 1/2'' wide. The width doesn't affect gear ratioJust thought you'd like to know.

[8D] Thanks to both of yall, Now I can see the hight diffirence. I was told that the Stadium rim's have an offset. Are they closer or farther away from the MT5 body?

Has any one used the FG Stadium Truck rims & tires[sm=thumbup.gif] on a FG MT5? "ANY ONE"[sm=confused.gif] If so do the Stadium Truck rims stick out farther [sm=thumbs_up.gif]or are they closer [sm=thumbs_down.gif]to the Truck? I was thinking "O NO, me thinking" if they stuck out wider & the tires are a little bit shorter then the truck should be less lickley to flip![:@] & be more stable.[sm=lol.gif]

They stick out about the same as the mt tire. the offset on the rims makes up for the size on the MT tires. There is not a major difference in truck width the the stadium or MT tires installed.

Thanks, That was one of the question's answered, one of the main one's. So the offset on the rim put's the tire away from the truck & not closer to it "RIGHT" Just a little bit? If you get time & you have done it "Wheel & Tire swap" Look at the first post & let me know about the gearing please! I was wondering about the wheelies? I got the Jetpro & G260RC engine. PS: My 4 try at making a new wheelie bar[sm=cry_smile.gif] I will get it the way I want it pretty soon I hope. LOL Thanks, PSS: Do you still have enough ground clearance with the FG Stadium Truck Wheels & Tires?

The lower number on the spur gear, the more low end you get.

scooter, its not gonna be that hard to figure out once you know the height difference between the two tires, until you have those numbers you'll be guessing forever [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]. The better way might be to find out the stock gearing on a ST and go from there.

as soon as they are available here in the states, i am gonna buy two or three different pinion gears for my baja just because i like having tune-ability. like with my Savage i have 5 different clutch bells of different ratio in my pit box just so i can climb steep sand hills with paddle tires one day and really open it up in a parking lot the next.

Hey Scooter, a picture is worth a thousand words. Hope this helps a little. When I run the ST tires on my Leopard with a 18/46 set up (stock) with a jet pro pipe, it hauls ass but no wheelies. FYI

but a leopard has a longer wheel base, and i belive it has a 16 tooth layshaft, where as the monster models have a 14 tooth layshaft.

so if u put 18/46 on ur MT scooter, i think theres a good chane u will get wheelies since ur gearing will still be slightly lower than the leopards.

That's not my Leopard in the picture. That is my MT 4x4. lol. (notice the chain drive next to the front diff.) My Leopard has the g26 also and to tell you the truth I've only ran my Leopard twice since putting on the Jet Pro pipe. Both times I was driving on a loose dirt track. It might do wheelies on concrete or asphalt with the 18/46 gearing. I just haven't done it yet. Someone might be able to tell you. I also use the 17mm square wheel drivers with longer front axles on my Leopard just to give it a little wider stance for handling.

Does both the MT & ST have the same size squares 17mm? I want to put the st Wheels & Tires on my MT5. I like the tread on the ST & a little shorter highth. I was told the ST Wheels have a slight offset compaired to the MT's. So my question is the square's on the wheels "ST" one's are they closer to the body, so the wheels stick out a little farther away from the body? I think the tires are 6 &3/4 x 3 &1/2 inches the ST one's. Is there a way you can put on one ST wheel & one MT5 wheel on the front of your MT5 Truck & Take a Pic. "Front View" Simi close up & Post it? Thanks,

Well, if you put one on the front about 1/4 the way and the other on about 3/4 of the way. Then spin it about 1/2 a turn and then use the atmospheric cyntrifical wrench to balance them, Oh, don't forget to use the flux capacitor when you do this. After that, could you take some pictures?

Hahaha, ScooterTrash I am just joking! I'm shuttin up now!!
