Default Carson attack diff problem!!!!HELP

Hi ppl

i recently got a carson attack 2nd hand (=S) ive put large wheels and tyres on and noticed that the car is making a strange "clicking" noise wen moving......i stripped the diff out and noticed that the diff case was broken...so i replaced the case and nothing changed

my friend went out and bought a carson attack and i have noticed that the ring gaer on his model is not as wide as the ring gear on my model, so now i think that the diff on my model has been replaced by an FG diff

could this cause the problem...and do the Fg diff's fit on the carson attack

thanks for any help

greetz

Everytime mine made a clicking sound the mesh was wrong. The thickness of the gear shouldn't matter much I would think as long as its the same tooth count. I'm pretty sure the beefed up diff gears are thicker anyhow. Check the mesh between it and the engine. My XTM the mounts where so poorly made I couldn't keep the mesh set at all so I changed over to alloy mounts and haven't had a issue since.

If the mesh is incorrect would it also make it whine when the car is rolling to a stop without any throttle applied?[]My hammer is doing this.Or does it need to be taken apart and lubed up?Haven't done it and it's been about 4 tanks of fuel.[sm=confused.gif]

Alloy mounts are a must.
I used up three plastic mounts in a year of driving, all stripped out and tore up gears as a result.
Make sure they are for the Carson or Firehammer not FG. The large mount is different.

[link=http://www.fg-hopups.com]FG Hopups[/link] is in the States, he's great for us that are in the states, I'm sure he'll oversea's ship also. He's also top notch on shipping and support. But you can check [link=http://www.rc-car-online.de/]Hobbytek[/link] too, they are oversea's..Germany I think.

you can use most fg parts with the carsons apart from fg shells and front bulkheads as the chassis is longer but it will take a fg diff
