Those are the beadlocks to hold the 40 series tires from Proline. Proline makes a few different tread patterns.

proline rims require an adapter to allow the rims to fit on FG vehicles

they cause more stress on your vehicles, some people try them for awhile.....then you see them for sale

The tires that fit on those rims dont last too long on our FGs under bashing conditions[:-]

The rims are made in 2 versions. 1 for the large scale and 1 for the 23mm. CNR 905 is the direct fit for the large scale trucks. CNR 906 is the 23mm. and the CNR 906 also has a 3/4" wider offset.

This rim is CNR 6232S It is made to mount the FG Stadium tire on it.

I can tell you that those 40 series on that MT are going to look real funny, i put them on mine, and it makes the truck look funny, the body is to high, Unless you have a staduim body.

I think the 40's look great. They may not last real long, but look correct.

what are our choices for bashing tires? sometimes we run on the street or a mix of pavement and dirt and grass. with the 1/5 scale tire and rim prices being what they are. IMO its worth trying to find a wheel/tire combo for just bashing in the street. also the mt tires don't work so well in the street, and the stadium set-up is more of an all-terrain tire, but still costs about the same as mt's. i guess we need some of the tire companies that make tons of smaller scale tires to step-up and give us some choices.

I have personally contacted some of the tire makers for smaller scales and I only recieved a reply back from Proline. They basically said they had no plan to get into larger scale quality tires. I am hoping since the release of the Baja they may re-think the idea. But for now we have no choice but to stick to 1/5 scale products for quality.

I personally own 4 sets of tires for the Marder/MT.... 1 set of MT's (off-road bashing), 1 set of Spikes (off-road racing), 1 set of F1 On-roads (on-road racing), and 1 set of bald Spikes (on-road drifting). So IMO you should check around RCU or e-bay for some used sets of wheels/tires. If you just bash I would say look into some monster slicks for on-road and stick with the MT's off-road. A tire change takes 1 wrench and about 5 min max, and this way your MT tires will last ALOT longer. If you don't want to invest in the slicks, buy a set of Firehammer wheels/tires and run them on pavement.... Once they are bald, they will work great for bashing. For the $$ 40 series tires are not at all worth it, from what I have heard the tires shred apart fairly quickly. For the price of a set of 40 series you could have a set of FH wheels/tires.

that's too bad about proline. i do agree with you about a set for bashing and a set for racing. i wasn't aware of some of the other options out there thanks for the info.

The RAMTech-RC rims are also made for the FG square drive. No adapters needed.

A much higher "cool" factor with the beadlocks and the best part...............NO GLUE!

The CNRs are not really beadlocks. They are bead squishers. The only true beadlocks are the HPI Baja rims so far. We are all waiting for some one to copy that design.

I own them they add about 4 kilos (10 lbs.) of weight to the MT
