Default FG marder tire inserts

Hi all just bought a marder race and Im puzzled by the tire inserts, they seem about 1cm to long, should I trim so they fit or are they meant to be like this? Just dont want to make and expensive(ish) mistake
Cheers
Adam

i trim them down sometimes. glue the ends together, fit them inside the tyre, then fit the tyre and liner on the rim.you dont glue the liner to the rim!
