Default I got bored

well after breaking the diff center in the MT yesterday i decided to remove the red coating on the shock bodys .
while i was at it i gave them a quick polish too , i think they look heaps better then when they there red.

i remember when your sig said you sold the diff busting hpi savage and got an FG.....
how did you brake it like that ??? sucks big time.
as for the shocks, they look realy sweet.

Love the look of the shocks that way, what did you use oven cleaner or simple elbow grease?

what did you use too polish the aluminum? Put a good wax on there after a polish or they will start to corode<~~~~spelling? if you do alot of water cleaning I use "semichrome" polish when polishing motorcycle frames/swingarms/ rims, then use a good wax afterwards......

i used autosol metal polish , its ment to have corrosion inhibitors in it but i will give them a good going over with some wax .

i used a peice of scotch bright a hex/allen key and a cordless drill [ took about 2mins per shock including polishing]
best of all i never took the shocks apart [8D]

yeah i think i did one too many jumps on concrete at work i was going to upgrade the diff later on but it looks like i have to do it now so im going the Visco differential route

you could always try the NEW elcon diff.....its great. its a sealed diff... the gears sit in oil

This new differential is provided with spiral bevel gears. Because of the sliding contact that these spiraled gears make their contact pressure is higher and the forces are divided over at least two teeth at all times.
This results in a much stronger differential that is resistant to the large forces that are imposed on the differentials, especially in off-road racing. The differential is a closed system which is filled with approximately 10-12ml of oil. The differential is delivered assembled and pre-filled
