What a $ 5-10 belt??

Personally I'm more outraged that the 4x4 kit cost the same as the Vehicles........ it should cost 1/2[:-]

Every 4x4 kit produced costs about the same if not more than entire FG Vehicle[&:]

From the video, it looks as if the vehicle being converted may need additional weight added to the front end to really take advantage of the 4WD........the mass of the motor seems to cause the rear wheels to do most of the work.

yeah, cos the vehicle was original built for 2wd , in the MCD's i think they have their engine right in the middle

Well if you look at it this way:

fg monster truck $1000.00

4wd kit $750.00

Total $1750.00

MCD 4wd monster truck $1682.00 without an engine. $200 for an engine you are at $1900.00. I don't see why everyone is complaining about the price, it is actually cheaper than the MCD.

if price is such a big deal why not build it your self. I have been working on some ideas not to sure how I am going to do it yet. This isn't a bad setup but I would be worry about the belt slipping.

You can get used MTs for 700-800.

I agree with RCNuts, the price really isnt that bad, campareing to the MCD. It would be less if you found one used to, like Hellya said $700-$800 for a used one.
Maybe one day Ill get it.

I just hope more factory 4x4's come out so we have choices other than MCD. Not that MCD is bad. I am really toying with the idea of getting a race runner buggy. It would be nice if more places sold them in the U.S. though. As far as the conversion I would like to see chain rather than belt for off road use. I used to think both ideas were bad but they have been using chains and sprockets for years on mororcycles and atv's so we know it has proven itself in harsh, dirty envrioments. More drag than a belt drive but I would think much more durable.

I was just looking through a site that had a new version of the FG 4x4 kit, its chain drive. It was listed at 1300 and change.

that is chain drive and rediculously overpriced. Kamitiro makes an FG 4x4 kit for the monster and the marder based buggies. We stock them. If you want the chain drive you can get it overseas for $1100 or so shipped to your door. Do a search in the forums, there were a few links to them. If not I can look it up, just drop me a pm.
