elcon drive train
Have ordered the Elcon drive train for my MB PRO. Hopefully rcnuts, gets it over to Australia ASAP!!!
Does anyone here run these things? Are they a good option?
I like jumping my truck, I find on the landing side of things my engine moves around a bit, so I think this is a better option.
Luckily my wife was happy when she saw the invoice for $380 'few extra goodies' and said thats not that bad, I dont she will be happy when she finds out it is USD.[>:][>:][>:][>:][>:][>:][>:][>:][>:][>:]
well I hope she wont be that bad when she finds out!!!!!

RE: elcon drive train
yeah I do Jas.
but unfortunately the guys over here are just not competetive enough with overseas dealers.
if I only have to wait 5 more days to save over $300 AUD on 4 items, then its a bit of a no brainer.
So i take it no one is running one of these drive trains then??

RE: elcon drive train
Last month i installed the elcon differential and it run very well.
Also im using the elcon differential brake and it also works very good.
Now just wait for the new helical cut steel gears that have the good gear ratio for monsters.

RE: elcon drive train
The Elcon Helical Gears are very good, but not very well suited for MT tires yet.
Lowest gearing is 7.50/1
7.50/1 would likely be ok for a stroker engine with a tuned pipe.

RE: elcon drive train
It amazes me that wives don't seem to like our hobby even though it is a form
of relaxation for us and one would think they should support us. I think they do
you know guys but our addiction can lead to overspending and really it is not so
bad to have nagging at times because it keeps us in check.
Sometimes they over do it and then we have to keep them in check.

RE: elcon drive train
Here is a couple of pictures of the Diff brake, as mounted on a car owned by Onno Abbes, Elcon
(Onno: Thank you for the pics.)
The diff brake should fit the Elcon Diff, ad FG's Standard Diff.
I don't know if it fits the Visco or the adjustable ones.

RE: elcon drive train
I am running a Crazy Nut gear carrier, is this goning to be ok??
Do I need a different lay shaft???
why cant you just order something for your car with finding out that you also need to order 12 other items to use that said piece.
After market dealers websites should be a lot more user friendly!!! I mean I clicked on the elcon drive unit and i saw it mention the 14t pinion, shouldn't it be in with the drive train???? and the diff mounts...... and also in its description say that if you install this than you will not have any rear brakes unless you also order this..........
A bit more info would be greatly appreciated by all. I like to just jump online see something I like and buy it. Not have to scour the web and find out whatelse I may need to purchase to use it.
I will get down off my soap box now. thank you.
