Default High speed ????

IIt time to change Zenoah 26cc engine for my stadium truck I already have 2 speed gear and many ally parts, I’m looking for high speed… I need advise which engine I should select CY 29cc, CY 28.5CC , CY 30.5 CC , modify my Zenoah 26CC or there is recommendation .. coast is not a big deal because I don’t buy engine everyday and I’m willing to invest on quality engine.

A racer in France informed me that I should look to high rev engine ( high RPM) and I should not concern about engine size because I will never get high speed from engine delver high torque only.

Thanks ScooterTrash , but should I look to H.P of he engine or RMP, in Oneillbrothers they list 28.5 CC engine and mentioned it revs much more than 29cc engine, I don't know which one I should select.

If you want the highest speed available on the market right now then you should look into dropping one of these into your truck. It is the same motor that wins the national level races.

Yes, it has adjustable timing on it. It is a true powerplant for an rc car or truck. Combine it with a Samba pipe and you will make a Stadium truck scream.

The ignition timeing is adjustable from the outside of the case. It can let you retard or advance your ignition timeing. Changing timeing has a minimal effect on the engine performance and could be considered fine tuneing. Advancing the timeing gives you a bit more hit in the midrange (that you may or may not notice), and retarding the timeing may give you a few hundred RPM (that you may not notice without a tach). I used a cover to develope a 4 deg retard key for the old 2mm stroker 35mm piston CY combo a couple of years back. I gained about 300 RPM on a ped. IMO the stock ignition timeing is pretty good for best performance on gas in most cases. Retarding a engine that has a lot of compression can get some of your RPM back.

if you want some of the best, then you need an Oddified Heli Tune Engine with an Oddified ECU, and a Bolt On Reed Valve kit. Tell Ian Oddie that you want maximum Speed, then He will get you there....
But that setup is customized and way over US$ 1000
http://www.oddified.com

An ESP engine with bolt on Reed and the Oddified ECU will also get you there, but at a more human price point.
Tthe Oddified ECU gives you a computerized Ignition, with only 2 wires connecting it to the engine.

I would not bother bolting on a reed without the porting that is needed to let it work it's best. There won't be a huge improvement in overall performance without the porting. The reed porting is different from the ESP G260 engines that DDM sells, but the reed porting can be easily added to the piston port ESP engine. I wish the oddified ignition was programmable at home (I don't think it is), that would be fun to play with.

Thanks JREXA for your advise but as far as I know reed valve can not be bolt on off road engines.. please correct me if I'm wrong also the controlling ignition time will increase 300 r.p.m

Although I’m willing to pay such amount of money if I will really get what I’m looking for, I would like to know why Oddified tuning are more expensive?

Now I checked his web site and last update was in 23/9/2005 and he don’t have contact numbers or address… are you sure he still operating?

oddified engines are expensive due to the fact they dont come any better & are found in most winning drivers cars in europe & worldwide comps,he doesnt just tune engines he races cars too and has held both on & off road overall no1 world champ spots numerous times, and yes they still operate as they only specialise in a few model services on there site - clutches, engines, diffs, tone servos, ecu & a few other tuning parts.unless you intend to run in serious comps then your better of buying a ported or displacement motor from oneills ect for alot less $$$

Not everyone "Bashes" them though. We see a lot of people that just like the look of vehicles and just want them to be the fastest.

You sure do get to the other side of the field or parking lot faster with a modified motor. Should really consider getting a set of hydro brakes on it to help stop it too.

There is a guy who can mod motors in Toronto. He has driven on-road cars for years. Take a look at his site and contact him. (Dino)
PLus he distributes the RS5 Carbon on-road cars!
