Default TESTED......New JETPRO V3 Pipe on the Baja 5B....!!

Well, got the new JETPRO V3 Pipe with separate silencer last week.

Oh, OK,.... yeah the pipe...
The pipe came with silencer, 2 shorter mount bolts, gasket, one longer mount bolt & nut for mid pipe mount tab, silicone tube and zip ties for the silencer, and 2 JETPRO decals. Oh, and instructions. It's not a cheap thin pipe. It seems to me, to be very well constructed and very solid. I would think that it would be very hard to bend or dent this pipe. It seems to have a nickel finish on it. The only mod I had to do was to cut off the stock exhaust's extension tube bolt mount off the roll cage. It's the one that holds the wire loop. No big deal at all. It took about 25 minutes to remove the stock can and mount the JETPRO V3. (I kept thinking of the delivery girl) I didn't mount the silencer. I have no reason to use it right now, so I didn't mount it. I don't want the extra weight. Before starting, I opened the carb jet screws about 1/16 turn counter clockwise to richen it up just to be on the safe side. Starting was the same as stock. Fired right up. WOW, sounds crisp! Very responsive while revving the throttle. Idle was steady, and stayed even. Sounds like the low screw on the carb was set OK. When I gassed it, she took off. NO bog at all. WOW does this thing move. Very fast. A LOT faster on the top end. Higher RPMs, and gets there very fast. No more bogging. After running it for about ten minutes, I opened the high speed jet screw on the carb about 1/4 turn. It was to rich now, so I ended up closing about 1/16. Now it was running perfect at top end. I wanted to get as much fuel as I could at full throttle. Today, I ran it pretty hard on a hard packed dirt track. 2 full tanks worth. Nice jumps, and A LOT of BIG tumbles and crashes. NO pipe issues at all. NONE..! I have to take my hat off to JETPRO for doing a fine job with this new pipe. The car screams, super quick, and no dents. The car is an animal. I love this pipe. I was going to get an engine mod, was thinking about the 29cc top end, but now I don't need it. This car is a hand full.!
Thanks to JETPRO for a great improved design, and Sean Oneill at Oneill Brothers Racing for hooking me up with this pipe. A sure winner..!

Here are some PICs of it mounted. (without silencer)

Without the silencer. I didn't run with the silencer, but slipped it on and reved it and it does silence very well. Quite like the stock can.

that pipe actually looks good on the baja, less of a second hand thumb like the other versions that where first introduced.

Yeah Glen, You too. Thanks for the invite. I will be there again for sure.....Thinkin about maybe puttin some snow fence on the top of that berm so we don't go swimming. Funny, the guy that did yesterday laughed at me when I said that I can get some and put it up. He said no way I want it without, if they go in the water, it's better for business....! I didn't care for that remark. I guess he had it comming....LOL

Very little, but not much. The car handles the same. I just turned the rear spring preload down about 3 turns. I measured the sag before, and after. I was going to weigh the pipe before mounting, but was to excited to put it on, I forgot. I do have to say that the silencer is just as heavy as the pipe though. That's why I didn't mount it.

I'll get some video of it the week after X-Mas. I have the week off, so I plan to run all week. One problem. I don't have a way to transfer the video to my PC so I can upload to my site......[&o] I guess I could mail someone a copy.....

you can do it with a Dazzle DV 80, you can get them on teh bay for around 80 or so bux. converts s video and rca analog to digital signal, connect via usb, and comes with pretty decent software.

lmk if you need it done, i can do it for ya.
