i hope your not using savage diffs , as they cant take the power of a half decent .28 so there not gonna last long with the torque of a 23cc engine .

i have a Race Ported 28.5 kit in my baja atm. the power is insaine compared to a stock 23.
theres a few things one can do.

Race Porting the intake and exhaust ports to improve performance. port the intake for a reed cage adapter. tuned pipe. better bearings, low drag seals, stock cranks, stroked cranks, stuffed cranks, stroked and stuffed cranks. juice box ect modified carb, race ported carbs ect.....

fyi the cy/zen 23cc motors are approx 2.5hp stock. my cy 28.5 race ported motor would be closer to 3.5 to 3.8 hp. add the xcan i ll figure about another .75 hp. so i would estimate my motor at roughly just over 4hp. maybe 4.5. i would expect my motor to spin a 22 in prop no less than 12000 to 14000 rpms. the spool up is incredibly fast over stock in my baja.

put on a properly tuned pipe, and im sure i d be near or over 5hp.

once i get the bugs out of it and i see how well it runs i might go with a better motor or at least a different exhaust.

My Friend, you have my attention. I am doing a Tanaka .26 conversion. Where can I get/do of what you speak? Am new to gas conversions but not new to bashing engines. What single element will give the biggest boost?

lol,
Scoot, havent you found a set of tires for those bling bling rims ??? damn, they do ;look fricken nice, to bad the mt tires dont fit, well, the other day i saw a post where you inquired about it but never saw a followup so im guessing you didnt fit mt tires on st rims.
just outta curiosity, why not ask the seller to take them back or re-sell them and get mt alloy rims ??

[:@] Hi BuggZy99, The MT tires will fit the rim's, but they are way wide & I was told it would make it roll over to easy. I like the ST rim's because of the offset, a wider wheel base, less roll over! The ST tire's I was told don't have that good of traction off road. The MT rim's weigh more than the ST one's. I guess I am still shopping! LOL

no Scooter. the HPIs are specific to the rims. different side wall heights between inside and out of the tires.

1705 find a SHIZLOAD of motor options here [link=http://www.davesmotors.com/store/engineparts.html]clicky me!!![/link]

this is the top kit i have installed [link=http://www.davesmotors.com/store/product1650.html]28.5 race ported headkit[/link]

these are CY/ZENOAH topkits, and i highly doubt they would work on that motor. BUT a good engine builder could do some port work to the cylindr you have and you can gain performance and HP.

there are other things you could also do like a Reed Cage [link=http://www.davesmotors.com/store/product73.html]Reed Cage[/link] that will get you about 1.5 hp gain over stock. know the intake port MUST be properly ported to see the most gains. if you dont port it for the reed cage, then your only tossing on more metal and will get minimal improvements.

tuned pipes, juice boxes are a few other ways to get good performance gains.

Porting the intake and exhaust ports will probably give you the best performance gain in your motor.

there is another thread here in this forum titled Porting and Polishing that will offer some insight to this. look for Posts from ESP and Tw8str i think it is, he builds for Oniels and ESP builds these motors for DDM. these 2 guys KNOW THEIR SHIZ when it comes to porting and polishing.

hth

The motor is APROX. 1.2 hp. I don't expect too much damage. You don't need a FM radio to run it. Any radio you have will work. Just make sure you change the spark plug to a resistor or you will go crazy trying to solve the problem.

i couldnt tell you whethet you can use any of the parts or not, BUT some may be of use.

Thanks again, Timmahh,

Already had a look and there's good stuff there too. This is going to be fun.
