.005 copper head gasket

Default .005 copper head gasket


Hey guy's have any of you ever tried a .005 cooper HG with a stock zenoah 26cc? i need to know if the piston would clear. stock is about .20 thick. if anyone could help me thanks

nevermind it'll clear! i tested it with no gasket and it cleared fine. hope this info is great for someone who want more compression with just a thinner HG

Zenoah has tightend up their squish clearance from what I have seen. You used to be able to drop the gasket all together, or just drop in a 1mm stroker crank because the squish was about .035-.040". The last G260 I measured a couple of months ago was .017". The smart thing to do is measure your stock vert squish clearance yourself. I have run as low as .010" squish, but I don't recommend it. .015 is about as tight as I would go. The stock Zen I last measured will not take the gasket swap you want to do.

So how do you measure the squish without a gasket ? a depth mic ? and then figure out from there ?
