Default Largescale Fever

Hey guys looks like i am suffering from "Largescale Fever."
As you all know i purchased a FG Stadium truck for CHRISTMAS which i really love ..ok, i have been
thinking about the HPI Baja 5B for awhile and was impressed with all the good reviews on it but what did
it for me was when Bryan70546 said he sold all his large scale vehicles, to fund his new love being the
MCD monster truck, except the Baja 5B which he is keeping.
At that point i just had to get it so i went to the hobby shop and bought one which ironically was the
last one in stock. [8D]
Hmmmm....what would we do without credit cards.

people allways told me i was a bad influence your going to love the baja buddy tough as nails and good looks to boot .people are allways putting it down but trust me most who do dont even own one.the little 23cc will push it along real good ,i was very impressed with how good that engine moved the baja along, but when i added the x-can WOW it really rips .but of course i wanted more so i added the tgn beadlocks ,tgn axle extenders and last week i installed a 29cc top in on it ,but saddly i was unable to run it this week ,but it sure does sound mean[>:].i started painting a new body hopefully it comes out good.i will miss my fg mt ,along with my carson onroad ,and my smt mt ,but the pain will soon set when my MCD BEAST ARRIVES.funny i had to sell all 3 just to buy one but i think it will be a very good investment.i have a baja and a biga..s 4x4 i think i am set for a while .....................i hope.good luck with the baja sending you a pm for you a web-site to check out for your baja.

Supposedly the stock Baja with the muffler pipe removed is close to the performance of the FG trucks but not quite. An X-Can exhaust would be the minimum to wake the Baja up enough.

the stingers on the baja and FH are also slightly different in size. the HPI stock can exits are actually a tad smaller and will fit INside the ohter stock exhaust stingers. so restrict airflow more, which, imo, is why we see such a differance between the to rcs, even though its the same motor.

some, myself included, just took the stock can and removed the internal packing inside the stock baja can, and added a 1/2 in copper fitting stinger inplace of the stock one. this allows the stock 23 to breath much better and there is a significant change in the performance.

but the XCan does an even better job over the stock can even when gutted.

I thought the FG's came with the slightly better quality, and bigger Zen G260 engine?
I would be willing to bet that the chassie, lower CG, and wheel base/width of the Baja will allow it to go faster over most off road terrain without flipping as much.

34Ford,

Nice heli and motor but isn't the motor upside down? Pull start normally is on the bottom. I have a century pred Z231.

I didn't mean to hijack your thread about helicopters.
I just wanted to post that I just bought a Baja yesterday to go with my gas heli.
Please forgive me.

But its a Vario Benzine

I'd love to have a vario helicopter, they are beautiful! Looked into it a few months ago just couldn't afford one.

I hear you on the large scale fever, i have only had my FG MT a few months and can't stop buying parts of it. My girlfriend doesn't like how much i spend on it so i hear you there! Good luck with your Baja!!

I would like to congratulate HPI for their well put together package included with the
Baja 5B namely a manual which is rare for 1/5 scale and 2 stroke oil, diff oil, shock oil and tools. [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

Well i finally got a chance to fire up the Baja and ran a tank today and i must
say that i am a "happy camper"
She fired right up on the second pull and performed great.
I took of the stinger and she ran quite well however an x-can is on order along with
some other goodies.

Cyclops,

I don't have a vid, I built 2 helis last year a QJ 50 Quick Fighter and a Century Pred 231. I didn't even start them, instead of going to the flight field I bought a new toy in May and spent most time riding it. A suzuki 2006 M109R Cruiser, I love that bike....
