Working on the Baja
No I don't have one but I'm just curiuos how you guys find it to work on.
I've heard from a LHS and a friend that some work is difficult on it. Some areas are hard to get at and you need to remove several items!
Just want some honest replies. I know some parts come off with body clips so they don't count.

RE: Working on the Baja
VERY easy to work on. as stated above, only a few things are a bit of work to get to. like the diff case. but all in all, i can have my gearcase out in about 10 minutes and have the diff out in another 5. the rest is pretty damn easy really.

I guess it depends what you're taking apart. I don't see myself getting a Baja, mayne if HPI makes a 4wd then I'll think about it.

Myself--I can take the engine apart--port it, and put it back together before I get a engine out of the chassie. Well---not quite. Skip the porting. I wish it was easier to get out. I had to take off the gears. I am not sure I had to do that, but I wish I could just slide the engine out of the clutch bell.

RE: Working on the Baja
I plan on getting one in the future after I get some dental work out of the way. Also I'm looking for a local spot to run it at. But from all the research I've done on it it looks real easy to maintain and dissassemble. If fact I wish it came in kit form. It would save a few $$. And it looks like it could be assembled ( the basic assy, not the tweaking) in about 3 days. At least that's how long its taken me with past R/C cars. I've never had an RTR before. It's getting harder to find kits any more in any scale.
