RE: Samba MT Pipe
LOL, Thats why I was asking. I was watching that.
My 1st choice so far is the DDM Low end pipe. But I just thought I would ask after looking into the cost of pipes why oh why is the samba which looks like my FG pipe with a longer manifold and stinger cost twice what others do. have they just not adjusted the price from when they started? You would think after a few hundred pipes the cost would adjust with the molds, jigs exc being payed off.
Thanks,
BTB

RE: Samba MT Pipe
For one thing, most of the Modelcargo/Samba pipes are Race Approved for Germany.
That means that they are Tested and Documented to fullfill specific noise limitations, which makes them more difficult to design.
Another thing is, you would never pay the same for a Hyundai as you do for a Mercedes, even if they where virtually identical
But of you want EXPENSIVE pipes, then look at the FirstOne Tuning pipes....
(Samba 4 pipe aprox € 250[US$ 310], Firstone G01M Pipe Aprox € 380[US$ 480])

Here are a link to some old Dyno pipe tests. I hope that they someday gets updated to modern pipes on G260RC04 engines and also includes off-road pipes.
I would also love to see such an independent test include the Jetpro and DDM pipes, so that it can be documented how good they are.

The ones making this test sells tuned engines, they do NOT sell tuned pipes.
Also the engine used for testing was a bog standard G230RC engine, with no mods.
