That thing has nothing to do with FG parts from what i can see... only the front arms i guess, i think it's looks nice and all but that for suure looks like a HPI clone to me, they even stole the purple!!! I wish there were some closer pics of it.

Just because it has rims, tires, roll cage, and rear wing that look to be hpi parts does not make it a Baja clone. The single flat plate chassis definitely makes it different than the REAL BAJA. Is that an exposed pinion and spur gear i'm seeing?
IMO it looks like a hacked up POS.

You got that right.....Not even close too a BAJA...... if it were a "CLONE" clone meaning "copy" it would loook the same not something that has an engine facing the wrong way, and parts from FG/clone on it and the wrong chassis.........

It's NOT a CLONE. Everything is different. Clone means EXACT copy. That being fact, you should be able to swap most of the parts with a real Baja. The only thing that you can take from this buggy and put on the Baja, are the wheels, and the rear wing. Everything else is different. Looks like a POS to me.

YES it is CRUD, but laugh all you want at $260 FOB China so with freight $360 landed. Sure it made up out of knock off "Technokit" ON-ROAD parts and a motor that does not have enough power to hurt it, but it is selling like mad all over the world because of the price.

We are doing a spec class in Los Angeles of the on-road version $360 no mods allowed to get people into racing 1:5 scale.

Hearing mixed reports about the quality of those Baja clones... some people are raving others are saying the engine is rubbish and it's very 'cheap'.

I understand how hard it is to spend 800-900$ for a car when there are others in the "same class" for a lot less. But the BOTTOM LINE is if you cant get parts, and I GAURANTEE you WILL NEED PARTS if you drive ANY of these large scale cars, all you will have in a short time is a very expensive paper weight or boat anchor. A "clone" a true clone will be able to use 95%+ parts that fit the original car. I know nothing about MCD or FG but I can tell you this car aint no HPI BAJA CLONE!! If these cars turn out to be of FAIR quality, parts will become available over time, Then and ONLY then would I EVER consider acquiring one. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Iam not bashing this car, all I am saying is make a smart investment in something you can keep around and have fun with for a while, and do lots of research before making an EDUCATED decision! Good Luck and have fun. I also thought I'd throw this out, If the HPI Baja was hard to get parts for and had no aftermarket following, How long do you think it would be before they disapeared?

You will have to replace parts whether it's a clone or the the real deal. So, you might as well buy a clone and upgrade as needed with Baja 5b upgrades, eventually you will have a real beast. I hope to see some video of some one having a blast with one of these clones.

They assured me it was a true copy and that all the parts will fit. They also said it comes with a larger motor. I will run one and get video.

Retail price of $699, just cant beat it!

Besides even if you had to change the motor out, you have to do this with the Baja also...Most people do.

The King Motors Baja clone is 100% compatible with all HPI Baja 5B products as It Is an exact copy. From what I saw the only difference was no writing on the tyres and the servos were better than the HPI one so In essence It's better and cheaper than the HPI model. You could get the HPI stickers and put them on the baja and you would never tell the difference.

It's $400 a car direct but you have to buy in bulk but you will recoup that back easily if you ship it LCL (less than container load).

If it's pretty close to the same quality as the Baja it'll sell pretty good and for $699 you are right ya cannot beat that price. Most of us that own baja's aren't running stock engines anyhow and I don't think anyone is running the stock exhaust on them..it'll be interesting to see how well it is....firehammer and smartech traveler are fg marder clones and those two sell well and need major upgrades to just be a semi-decent rc not even a basher, if this thing only needs a pipe and radio to go bash it'll be a hot item
