Life before outerwears
Way back when i had two RACO jack rabbits i used to take my wife's pantyhose. After i got done wearing them[8D],i would cut them into 8" lenghts and tie a knot on one end and used them for prefilters.I must say, they worked great and it only took a minute to change.I kept about ten of them in tool box and changed them very frequently when running in dusty conditions. Now that there are Outerwears i don't have an excuse to steal my wife's hose anymore.Just thought i would share this with you all and try and bring a little humor and self degradation to this forum.

RE: Life before outerwears
I tried the panty hose pre-filter and it didn't seem to work at all. Maybe I was wearing 'em wrong
The hose are also not water repellent like the outerwears. The biggest weakness in the Outerwears is that the fit is not air tight around the front of the air filter assembly so you will still suck in dirt. I thought I might take some stick velcro. Stick one side to the inside of the prefilter and the other side to the filter assembly and then mate the velcro together. This might act like enough of a barrier.

RE: Life before outerwears
I just got my Redneck and i am having a heck of a time trying to get the outerwear cover over my redneck and stock filter.I put the stock filter indide of the redneck and slid them on and then put on the retaining cap on the back, but i can't get the outerwear over both of them.It is just too big now and it is a tight squeeze around the roll cage.I didn't think it was gonna be such a hassle to change filters.I will prolly just not use the outerwear if it is gonna be a pain.Or i could go back to the pantyhose. That is more fun anyway

That's funny Rat,but really, how in the heck am i supposed to get that darn thing on.There is hardly any room between the roll cage.I am just gonna get a few more Rednecks and change them frequently during a day of driving and clean them when i get home.I really wanted to use the Outerwear, but that aint gonna happen.
BTW,this does not sound like an rc car discussion with "rednecks" and"outerwears"[8D]

RE: Life before outerwears
Isn't the Redneck a pre-filter that is supposed to replace the stock dark grey
coloured one ???
You don't need two pre-filters..do you ??

RE: Life before outerwears
The redneck that i have has a huge hole in the center and it would fit way too loose on the plastic filter housing. The stock filter fits snug inside of the redneck, but the outerwear is almost impossible to fit.I tried for twenty minutes and all i did was start to tear the outer.
