Default Raco Jackrabbit Fuel Cell & Battery

My jackrabbit's fuel cell is busted and the battery is dead. I've been looking on eBay every once in awhile and haven't seen anything. Does anybody know the output Voltage/Amperage of the battery and where I can find a identical fuel cell? Thanks in advance! -Scott

by fuel cell. you mean Gas Tank? if yes you have to get it from traxxas. as far as battery, i think it is a simple 5cell SubC cell flat pack. i wouldnt worry about a stock battery for it, as you can buy one aftermarket for 35.00 or 40.00 usd shipped to your door, and it will last hrs longer than the stock battery pack.

Thanks for the reply! Yea, I meant the gas tank. Do you have a link to the traxxas tank that would work? Thanks!

Edit: Could I make a battery pack with [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290047472272&fromMakeTrack=true]this battery[/link]?

You probably could make a pack with it, but you'd probably want a higher capacity than that battery, as I believe most ppl here use NiMH in their Large Scales.

They don't have Sub C's, but I bought some AA NiMH "2700" mAh from [link=http://www.web-tronics.com]Web-tronics[/link] and the ppl are great there. They're mostly generic cells, but I found the price and performance were both not bad.

For a gas tank/fuel cell.
Why would he have to go to Traxxas? This is not a Traxxas product, its a Raco.
Try Raco.co.at they should be able to help you out or e-mail them at [email protected]
As for a battery pack, I'm not one for soldering batteries, I would preffer an assembled pack.

Ohhhh, unless you are thinking of the Traxxas Monster Buggy, or whatever there large buggy is called, for its gas tank.

I have a RACO Jac-Rabbit and also an HPI Baja. Looking at the Baja's fuel tank, I would think it would work/fit nice in the Jac-Rabbit. I wouldn't use a tank from a nitro model. I don't have any, but consider looking at any of the FG brand tanks too. Try to get a tank from a 1/4, 1/5, or 1/6 scale gasser. I would keep looking on ebay, as there is always parts for RACO's on there. I have a ton of extra parts for the JR, but no tanks. Also try looking on this site: [link=http://www.qsac.org/]QSAC[/link] in the "Swap Meet" area. You can also try [link=http://www.raco.co.at/jackrabitt.html]RACO Modelcraft[/link]
I still think ebay would be your only source. Good luck.

When I was racing 1/4 scale back in the 80's & 90's, I was getting my wheels and tires from [link=http://www.bishopracingproducts.com/catalog.php]Bishop Racing[/link]. You could try them also.

Any time phokur, he was very helpful with me when I e-mailed him as well.
His prices were not that bad, shipping was not that bad either (if I remember correctly, I'll have to go through me e-mails and double check).

Good Luck.

If Raco Europe does not pan out, I have a used one, I am sure. Wolfgang is a good guy and very trustworthy. Dont worry about sending money his way. Also, I have a site www.quarterscalelegends.com there is a forum there specific to 1/4 scale so if you have a need, there is one more place to try. Good luck with the JR.

You could also try a lawn and garden place that has junked trimmers and find a tank that will fit. I find them for free there.
For the battery pack making it only costs $10-15 for a 2700 NIMH AA 5 cell pack.

So Wolfgang wants $43.00 for the gas tank, I think that's what the Baja tank would cost me anyway. Still not sure what batteries to use to make a new battery pack. I'd like to go through eBay if possible. I found [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/SubC-NiMH-2700mAh-RECHARGEABLE-BATTERY-for-Assembly_W0QQitemZ290047535643QQihZ019QQcategoryZ9 4888QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem]these[/link] which look about what you guys are talking about. Thanks for all the help!

As long as there are records for your transaction, it should be fine. I wouldnt worry about it. He was pretty straight forward with me.
