Default ??? about fuel tank/line

Guys, I am a newbie w/ 1/5 scale. Should the main fuel line(on the left) reach the bottom of the tank. My Firehammer was dying after a few minutes, and when I pulled the line out, it was only about 1" into the tank. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

With the pick up fuel filter attached as well , so it stays constantly on the bottom of the tank .

Sorry to seem silly, but is that both lines running into the tank that should reach the bottom, or just the one w/ the filter on it. The black line with the filter on it, that goes to the bottom of the carb runs to the bottom, but the other line that runs to the top of the carb does not. I did not realize how little I knew about 2-strokes until I got one LOL. I still have Nitro on the brain I guess.
