Default spur gear stripping

hi all'
i wonder if someone can tell me why and how to avoid my spur gear from stripping[:@] i have changed to a 16t pinion and a smaller 46t spur on a alloy carrier, ran a tank through no problems but this last tank a grating noise under acceleration/shock travel has occured with the left side corner if looking from the rear of the spur gear strippingcant see how it can foul upper arms, but any advice greatfully received, also the bottom screw of the pressure plate for the brake disc has worked loose, top one easy to tweak !bottom one a real pain, any feindishly simple way of tightening without stripping half the truck out[&o] many thanks vacey

Pinion should be steel and spur needs to be put an alloy gear carrier and if possible get alloy upper rear arms as this reduces flexing.
Hope it helps

Hi tufty it could be that the plastic has started flexing or you have just been going over large bumps so sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn`t. The only real way of testing that theory would be drive it round a car park on a flat surface for a tank to see if the spur gets damaged.

The gears are not meant to work together. THat is why you are stripping gears. you can only run 16/48 or 18/46, you cannot mix or match
