Yes you might have burnt out your servo running a 7.2 battery .. on hitec's site says max output for a 5745 is 6 volts ..

What type of radio do you have? If it is a BEC then the volts only where at 4.8 If its a Spektrum you toasted the servo with a full 7.2 and the servo is maxed at 6.0. If you have a Y lead to the BEC then you may also have toasted it by bypassing and allowing 7.2 to get to the servo.

The idiot at your LHS should be put in jail for that. Imagine if your steering or throtle got toasted at high speed?...could really hurt someone which might be you...
Anyhow, lesson to learn is to read some instructions and read up at places like this helps a lot. Never trust a saleman...

Without a regulator that is too many volts....bad advice. A 19.00 dollar Novak regulator would have been the solution,
a straight 6 cell pack is too much.

Are you sure the hobby shop told you to run 6 cell or 6 volt. You see,6 cell is 7.2 volt and 6 volt is 5 cell.I think there very well could have been some misunderstanding somewhere.Think about it.

oh well, live and learn[&o]..........guess i sould be glad i didn't fry my other servo.......i seem to be having alot of problems with my local shops...ct motorsports-is the place that told me i could run 6 cell,waricks-their token"FG guy" flat out and sold me the wrong aluminum carrier and gear for my MT,theres only 2-3 people in there i've had good luck with..........
what the hell happened to customer service/relations, you'd think if they work in a certain department they would know..........something......shheeshh
