Default did i kill my servo

I replaced the screw that holds the servo arm on my hitec steering servo with a longer one, after i tightened it,it locked up and wont move so i back the screw out a bit then it unlocked but servo is not working anymore,i think the longer screw damaged something inside, has anyone ever done this???

Pull the four screws out of the servo and remove the top of the servo to access the gears, I suspect that you may have cracked a gear.

I guess that I should ask if the servo makes any noise like it's trying to function?

Never put a longer screw in anything!!!!!! Only use the MFg. supplied screws. Always have extra srevos in case this happens. It can ruin a day of racing.
