So i made another video, this is from bashing today, finally got someone else to video tape so i could go a bit faster and get some air, i had some huge jumps, a couple of which weren't taped , man i love this truck! Enjoy the video guys!

Only mangled a plastic spur gear, thank god i have a spare , who used a steel spur gear/ Do they hold up well? I'm either ordering a steel one or 2 more plastic ones this week, what do you guys suggest?

Order the plastic, Here is why.

Wen u have the steel spur and a steel/alum pinion u take a lot more force to strip the gears and wen they to the strip both spur and pinion, that's why plastic is good cause wen the braking point come it gives and will brake, but with steel were the braking point for plastic is shattered and it keeps going Ur gonna wind up loosing more in the end, wen how long does it take to change a spur on trucks? and if i think I'm right the pinion is alum, the pinion will go first! i would buy as many plastic one's u can get!

Ya theres a nice jump at 1:48 but u don't land it make a little lip at the top then jump,see if u can land that in the middle of the street.

Oh yes it did land my friend, not level but it hit the back end and leveled out fine and i drove off afterwards.
Yah if i had a huge shovel i'd level it out, thats a big ol mount of rough dirt lol. i'll see what i can do though, maybe make like a little landing strip lol

Thanks man, yah only 2WD FG MT, I definately bash the crap out of all my toys. Seems thats why their always broken lol. But thats the only way it's fun! I'll be heading back out tomorrow after i toss in the last remaining spur gear, HOPEFULLY I don;t break anything lol. BUT i'm sure i will lol! I'm going to try to level out some of the top and see what i can do

i drive them until they break then upgrade the part that broke lol. you should do the 4WD conversion. sucks its raining today i was gonna work on my table top im makin.

Yah i really WANT the 4WD conversion ...BUT me and my GF just closed on our first house yesterday so i'm an official homeowner now.....SO the RC budget just got reduced to almost nothing, all extra money is going towards the house, my Dodge Viper, or my Mustang GT lol. Only buying replacement parts that break. BUT one day I will have the conversion!

Normally I would agree with you about not having all steel gears, I wouldn't in any other vehicle BUT the FG offroaders. As long as you have the alloy motor mounts and alloy diff conversion then the the all steel works. i have had several trucks all running full steel gears for YEARS without ANY breakage. I have torn suspensions off, destroyed bodies, Blown motors, etc.. Still the same gears in the trucks. The only Negative I see is it "I feel" it wears ball drives or dog bones faster. But I will gladly replace them once a year to never have to change a gear again. Or more so lose play time cause I didn't have one with me.

if you keep stripping spurs your upper arms are probably causing it? have you got ally ones?
dont worry about fitting all metal gears, i used to think you need a weak point in the transmission but thats not true.

Yes i have the alloy rear upper a arms on, this is the first gear i've stripped and i was wondering why?

Haha I love it, it's my baby! here a video i put together of the viper. The Venom is just a package from Hennessey, heads, cam stuff like that along with the TT's. You can have a Venom 650 viper by just upgreading head, cam, and rockers i believe.

I had the steel spur in my FG Monster Beetle for 8 months and never had a problem. I loved it. If I could use one of the FG steel gears in my TRAXXAS Monster Buggy, I would in a heart beat. [sm=thumbup.gif]

One thing is for sure; no one will ever accuse you of owning a shelf queen!

Well you know u could always but another truck for parts and fix it up and have 2lol, The 4wd kit is a blast, a pian it the A$z To install but it all works out, the only think i would change is instal a chain cover, some how i got a rock in there and zing there went the chain, but that was fixed brfore it got stolin, you should get the cheap one, the $800 one. that uses the belts!

Well i'm going to buy the steel spur gear.

I'm not even going to think about buying anything like 4WD or another truck for a while, i've already spent way to much!

Saw that Viper video buddy, nice car and vid.. maaan your lucky!! i may be getting a steel spur also just for the heck of it.. i've onl;y stripped 1 since i had my hummer.. non on the Marder buggy of mine. just broken diff on my Marder lol
